I am so excited to share this session. I had been looking for a newborn to photograph for some time now. Natasha was referred to me by her sister Tomeka. I arrived at Natasha's house early Sunday morning and my surprise Kaiden was wide awake. He is such a beautiful little boy and Natasha is so good with him. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy.

Tomeka Few Maternity Session

I had the opportunity to meet up with Tomeka and her husband James today for a maternity session. It has been so hot the past several weeks so we decided to get out early. I am so glad we did, because even though it was a little hot we still be the heat. Tomeka and her husband are so cute together and you can tell they adore each other. Tomeka is definitely glowing and I appreciate her calling me for this session. Chandler is already one blessed little girl. Here is a sneak peak of her session. Enjoy.

Summer Mini-Session

Is it time to update the family photo album? Here is a great opportunity to do just that. On July 16th I will be hosting my first photography mini-session. Mini-sessions are perfect for updated shots of the kids, some new fun head shots/lifestyle pictures of you, or a mini-couples session. Mini-sessions are a great opportunity for me to have some fun with existing clients and to meet new ones.

• When:: Saturday, July 16, 2011

• Where:: Savannah Rapids Pavilion • Times:: Sessions will begin at 9 AM and finish at 12 PM

• Sessions will start on the full hour and the half hour and are 20-25 minutes max in length::
9:00 – 9:25 AM – Booked
9:30 – 9:55 AM – Booked
10:00 – 10:25 AM – Booked
10:30 – 10:55 AM – Available
11:00 – 11:25 AM – Available
11:30 – 11:55 AM – Available

• Mini sessions are for groups up to 4 people max (kids, families, couples, headshots welcome)
If your group contains more than 4 people, email me and we can work something out.

• Assorted posed and candid shots

• A few props will be on-hand for the kiddos

Sessions are $25 and include::

• Time and processing
• 15-25 final edited images uploaded to online gallery for proofing and ala carte ordering
• 8 Wallet Prints (1 pose chosen by you)

Winner of the Cutest Kid Contest

The Cutest Kid Contest was the first contest that I've hosted since I started doing photography. Needless to say I didn't know how it was going to turn out. I was certainly excited by all the entries that I received and the kids were so adorable. I wasn't expecting the overwhelming support for the contest. This brings me to my next topic, the WINNER. Over 200 votes were cast. Coming down to wire it was evident that Cayden and Austin were battling for the lead. These two cutie pies received over 165 votes. These two received so many votes that I couldn't break their little hearts by picking one of them. So it is my pleasure to announce the co-winners of the Cutest Kid Contest:

Submit your photo to Katrina Dent Photography via email. You have until Friday June 3rd to submit your picture. Pictures will be added to the contest album on the fan page on Saturday June 4th and voting will begin. Voting will close on June 12th @ 10pm EST, and the winner will be announced on June 13th. Once the picture are posted, the voting starts! So make sure to submit your picture and tell all of your friends to vote for your child!

::HOW TO ENTER::

Email your photo to katrinadentphotography@yahoo.com with the subject line "Cutest Kid Contest"
Include your child's name and age in the email (first name and age will posted for contest) as well as your contact information
All entries will be loaded to the 2011 CUTEST KID CONTEST album on the Katrina Dent Photography Facebook fan page on Saturday June 4th
Photos will only be taken until June 3rd at 10pm
One entry per family/household (with the exception of twins, triplets, etc. Only one picture may be submitted and it must contain all children)

Congratulations to the "Class of 2011"

I recently had the opportunity to photograph two special young ladies. My sister Brittany Leverett and her good friend Christie Thompson. Brittany and Christie entered Columbus State University as freshman in 2006. They both played softball for the CSU Cougars for four years. And now they are both CSU Alumni. I know these two will be friends for years to come. I was delighted to take some pictures of them on their special day. Here are just a few shots of what I was able to capture. Enjoy!!!

Today I had the opportunity to take a few pictures of the Lewis Family. I have known Stephanie for years. We grew up playing softball against each other. Now we both have kids around the same age and we talk from time to time on facebook. We both started our business ventures around the same time as well. I recently had the opportunity to shoot one of my favorite families, The Waldens. My co-worker is the mother of four beautiful children. She has two girls and twin boys. Her girls were so sweet and demure. The twins are typical boys who love to play and run around. They remind me of my brother when he was younger. Austin Luke Christening

Happy Birthday Austin and Cameron

I recently photographed a birthday party. This was not just any birthday party it was the party for two special little boys. Austin and Cameron turned 1 and their theme was "Mod Monkey." Their mom went to great lengths to plan this party. She paid close attention to the details and my little pumpkin was so excited to be there. Enjoy the pics.

Ricky was such a joy to shoot. As soon as he showed up he was all over the place. He even made me hold a frog that he caught. I just followed him around and the camera just loved him. Ricky's mom is my co-worker and I am just glad that she allowed me to photograph him. Ricky is just adorable. Just wait until you see that face. Here is a sneak peak of our session hope you enjoy.

The Luke Family

Today I had the opportunity to snap a few photos of the Luke family (Larry, Nickie, Aliyah, and Austin). They stopped by the house for a quick visit and I seized the opportunity. Although they were not dressed to take family photos, because they are my cousins, they didn't have a choice. I was able to get some good shots in before Austin, their six month old, became fussy. I just wanted to thank them for having such great attitudes.

Pictures. I just love taking pictures. I have pictures all around my house. When my family gets together the first thing I do is pull the pictures out. Pictures are great memories that we can share with each other for years to come. As much as I like being in pictures, I love taking them. So with the support of my family I have decided to venture into the photography business. My biggest supporter is my husband. He purchased me a really nice camera on vacation this year and haven't stopped taking pictures yet. Right now everything is still new. I am currently in the process of taking classes on-line to improve my skills. I don't have a website right now but there is plenty of time for that. I want to take this opportunity to thank my family for supporting me and allowing me to take all the pictures that I want of you. Getting a portfolio together is hard work. Therefore I am going to need some families who want to help. I can promise you a great time and experience.
